F-M Market Welcomes Melissa Petry

Melissa M. Petry has been named Associate at American Federal’s Moorhead Sales Office.

Petry and her family farm north of Ada, Minnesota on a 2,000-acre grain farm and 50 head cow-calf operation. Petry has 16 years experience as the Commodity Marketer and Financial Manager for Jeff and Melissa Petry Farms.

She has worked as an Accounting Technician for Marcussen Accounting, Ada and a Teacher in the Equine Science Department at the University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC).

Petry has served on the Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers Board and the Norman County Farm Service Agency County Committee. The Petrys are 2011 North Dakota State University Harvest Bowl County Agriculturalist Honorees, received the 2006 Minnesota Outstanding Young Farmers Award and were the 2004 Agassiz Valley Leaders for Normal County.

Petry graduated from Glyndon-Felton High School in Glyndon, Minnesota, earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Equine Science from UMC and received an Advanced Commodity Marketing Certificate in Farm Business Management from Northland College, Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
