Johnson has worked in the banking industry in Fosston and Erskine, Minnesota for 43 years, spending 40 of the years in the same two bank buildings in Fosston.
January 5, 2018 marked Johnson’s 40th Anniversary with American Federal through its acquisition of a bank in Fosston.
In December of 2007, when American Federal moved down the block to its new bank building at 209 Johnson Avenue North in Fosston, Johnson left behind the old bank building at 207 North Johnson Avenue that had been her home since 1978 when she joined the former First Federal Savings and Loan.
Johnson started her banking career at American State Bank of Erskine. Later, Johnson moved to Fosston and commuted to the bank in Erskine until she was offered a position at First Federal in Fosston.
As financial institutions began to consolidate operations and select new names, First Federal became Northland Federal and then Twin Cities Federal Savings and Loan, today known as TCF. American Federal acquired TCF’s Fosston location in April of 1995.
