Tye Korbl Earns Certified Financial Planner Designation

Fargo South Private Banker Tye W. Korbl has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) to use the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CFP® certification marks in accordance with CFP Board certification and renewal requirements.

Tye joined American Federal in 2011.  Korbl provides financial advice to clients in Fargo-Moorhead and the southern Red River Valley.

Korbl started his banking and financial services career in Fargo in 2006.  He is securities licensed and a graduate of the F-M Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.

Korbl was born in Grafton, ND and moved to Goffstown, NH with his family when he was six years old.

Korbl graduated from Brown University, Providence, RI, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Public and Private Sector Organizations.  He played Division I hockey at Brown and played professional hockey as a Forward for a year with the Central Hockey League in Wichita, Kansas.  He has coached high school and youth hockey in Fargo.

He joined Worldwide Express, Boston, MA, as an Account Executive before moving to Fargo, where he was an Inside-Sales Representative for SEI-CCS, a Microsoft Business Solutions Account, and later a Services Specialist at Corporate Technologies.

The CFP® marks identify those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board, have successfully completed financial planning coursework and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination, covering the areas of the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning.  CFP® professionals also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct and Financial Planning Practice Standards.

CFP Board is a nonprofit certification organization with a mission to benefit the public by granting the CFP® certification and upholding it as the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning.  CFP Board owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and federally registered CFP (with plaque design) and CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements. CFP Board currently authorizes more than 70,000 individuals to use these marks in the United States.
