Donald Abarr, Fargo-Moorhead and Wahpeton Regional President, Jason Bedford, American Federal Investments Managing Director, and John Schumacher, Greater Grand Forks Market President, have graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC).
GSBC provides management and leadership development for community-banking professionals. The degree in banking is widely recognized by the banking industry and is a marker of advanced education.
The rigorous program includes six weeks of classroom training during two- week sessions over three consecutive summers on the campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder, six intersession research projects, completion of a bank-management simulation course and comprehensive examinations.
Abarr holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Wyoming at Laramie. He joined American Federal in 2008. He has 17 years of commercial and ag lending and sales management experience.
With 24 years of financial services experience, including 19 years at American Federal, Bedford has an Associate of Science Degree in Banking and Financial Services from North Dakota State College of Science at Wahpeton. He is securities licensed to sell investments and insurance, is a Certified Financial Planner® and has a leadership role at American Federal’s sales offices in Northwood, North Dakota, and Warren and Ada, Minnesota.
Schumacher holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He joined American Federal in 2012. He has 16 years of financial services experience in the Greater Grand Forks Market, including ag and commercial lending.
