Roger Erbes Completes Graduate Banking School

Roger ErbesRoger L. Erbes, Moorhead and Wahpeton Market President, has graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado (GSBC). Erbes was among 156 graduates of the Class of 2019.

It was the 69th Annual School Session at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

The GSBC annually hosts the 25-month, higher-education banking school that provides management and leadership training for community bank professionals from across the United States.

GSBC students are recognized as rising leaders in their organizations and, as graduates, often continue on to acquire greater leadership roles within their institutions. A graduate school diploma in banking is widely recognized by the banking industry at large, and is a marker of advanced education that hundreds of banking industry professionals from around the country accomplish each year.

Graduates receive a diploma upon successfully completing six weeks of classroom training – two weeks in July for three consecutive years – which focus on general management and technology, leadership and human resource management, financial management, and lending.

Requirements for graduation include comprehensive examinations, intersession research projects and participation in a bank management simulation course.

Erbes has 15 years of banking and ag and business lending experience. He began his career as a Teller in Moorhead, was later promoted to Business Banker and Senior Agricultural Industry Specialist.  Erbes joined American Federal in 2011 as an Ag and Business Banker and was promoted to Vice President.  He was named the Moorhead Market President in 2015 and Wahpeton Market President in 2018.
