American Federal Makes Two Board Announcements

The American Federal Bank Board of Directors has named Executive Vice President and Director Ross Olson Vice Chairman of the Board.  Chief Financial Officer Dean McCleary has been appointed to the Board of Directors.

American Federal is an employee-owned partnership, with employees becoming owners through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

Olson joined American Federal in 1991 as Chief Operating Officer, later became Executive Vice President and was named to the Board of Directors in 1998.

Olson has 39 years of experience in financial services, including business and ag lending, credit administration, operations and management.

He is President of the 7th District Agricultural Credit Association.

A native of Langdon, ND, Olson has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agriculture from North Dakota State University in Fargo and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, located in Boulder.

McCleary was named Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President in 2002.

McCleary came to American Federal from the University of Minnesota, Crookston where he served as Vice Chancellor for Finance.  In addition to his finance and operations experience in higher education, McCleary has 16 years of banking experience in Minnesota.

McCleary is from Fisher, MN.  He earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Finance from Moorhead State University.  He is a graduate of the Minnesota School of Banking, Northfield, Minnesota.
